Boys Varsity Basketball · Rawls Receives All-State Recognition from Four Organizations

Junior guard, Jalen “JD” Rawls has been busy this April collecting post-season honors.

The Basketball Coaches Association of Michigan released their All-State team, called “BCAM’s Best,” this week and once again, JD was recognized with ‘Honorable Mention’ status.

Rawls had already been awarded Honorable Mention All-State status from the Associated Press, Detroit News, and the Detroit Free Press.

JD had one of the best all-around season’s in Mt. Morris’ recent history, posting a stat-line of 16.9 points per game, 6.2 rebounds per game, and 5 assists per game.

He also received Honorable Mention on MLive’s Flint Area Dream Team as well as 2nd Team All-Conference Honors in March.

Rawls is currently competing for his AAU team and preparing for Mt. Morris’ upcoming summer league.

After a long drought of All-State recognition, Mt. Morris players have now received All-State recognition for two consecutive seasons. Alumnus, Cameron Pratt received Honorable Mention All-State from BCAM last season.
